Funny you say that, because it just so happens that this is the revolution controller, not the revolution remote.

Funny you should say that, because the PS2 has something quite similar to this. And as a remote, does anybody use it to play games? Well, step forward!

Well I see a few problems looking at it.
With the anologe attacked it's like playing with the a GC contoler with only the A, R, L, Start, and Z buttons seriously the bottom buttons are useless being so far away.
The directional pad aren't really button, so that can't be used as much as true buttons.
Seriously the GBA has more buttons and the modular seperation of the anolog seem kind of like an extra complication.
I sapose it could work but right now it look a bit like trying to play with a DVD remote and those thing suck to use, I'm almost thinking third party developers are going to go with the GC controler and stay awayform that.

seeing isn't the only part of believing. I still refuse to acknowledge your opinion unless you've read the article about it

Give me something that can top FF6, Star Ocean II, Baldur's Gate

Shadow hearts was pretty awesome. Part 2 moreso than part one. A traditional rpg, with a unique battle system, that is also set in World War I Europe and Japan? Come on, you even get to meet and kill fictional versions of some prominent political leaders!

I didn't realize you were able to point at and manipulate objects in real time on the screen with the PS2 remote; using it to drag items or shoot them, or do whatever else. Or that it was able to detect 3D motion of the controller itself and transmit that data back to the game platform. silly me, I need to read the system manuals a lot more
Edited by Gavin_86 on 09/16/05 05:04 AM.

And watched the video of it. I thought it was asstasticly bad until I watched the video. Now I think it's genius. If the Revolution supports being hooked up to a monitor like the early reports said it does, I'll probably be getting one.

Don't like the PS2 controllers. You can have 'em.
I like the GC and SNES controllers....this one looks interesting to say the least. I'd have to see how it works on the system. Which I will buy.

Yeah, that looks awesome. My only fear is that it will suffer from Power Glove syndrome. I'm not referring to it being a good idea that's horribly implemented, but more specifically to problems of calibration (where do you hold the controller when you want your view to be centered) and the problem of arm strain (try holding your arm out in front of you for more than 10 minutes, it gets tiresome).

I think you hit the nail on the head. Game developers will have a field day with this. I just watched the video clip and now I can't wait.

Seriously, though. Sony got controller design right with
the Playstation (II) dual shock controller. Just pay Sony
their royalties and use their fucking design. I mean come
on, Nintendo. What is this shit?

Well I'm not going to say it sucks before I've tested it, unlike you. ;P

Hum, I'd say that looks...interesting, but also looks like the button placement is a bit odd, basically only allows for easy use of "A" and "B". Though I guess there's a "Z" behind the analog control stick too? Looks that way.

In any case, since you can use it to point&drag etc, it's hard to say it won't work very well, just that games needs to be designed with that in mind.

I, for one, trust Nintendo more than anyone, I'm sure it'll be awesome, anything Nintendo touches turns to gold. [/fanboy].
