Default Anyone on here using Win64 (either XP Vista beta)?

Can you comment on the pros and cons? Is there a lot of trouble running 32 bit apps?

How do you find the driver support to be?

I know alot of people say it sucks. No real reason to have it. Drivers suck if they are made. From what I hear best 64bit OS is Linux.

See, I'm still on the fence on which version of vista to get. Sounds like I should stick with 32... but it seems like such a waste when I have an AMD 64 :P

Stay with 32. It has more/better drivers. Your CPU's not "going to waste" with a 32 bit OS. The speed increase with 64-bit is minimal, if not nonexistant for most software.

Because I just have the one computer and I am not going to install a beta OS on the one computer. Especially when I do not know that all my hadware will have drivers in the version that I really want to test.

the driver support was bad, i have a turbocache enabled videocard that vista only recognised as a 256mb videocard. while not the worst thing in the world, not exactly pleasent. also, the nvidia drivers are buggy, at times the build couldn't find and D3d compatable devices. the good point is that the creative drivers are backward and forward compatable (as far as i can see) i installed the XP Pro x64 drivers for my audigy 2 sound card. the vista x64 drivers were corrupt.

ati... usually sucks on this sort of thing. dont bother.

aside from that, my Nforce drivers were found pretty quick, and the hardware that Vista DOES support is fantastic. if you can, download a newer build than beta 2. it functions better with less resource usage. plus it fixed some issues i had. (like the GPU forgetting to use 1024x768 in anything but 8bit color.
