Default NES emulator help

I'm trying to get a NES emulator to work on my step brothers crappy windows 95 computer. I tried Nesticle, but it just loads a blank DOS window that doesn't do anything. I tried RockNES DOS and it says it performs an illegal opporation when I start it up. JNES says it doesn't work because of restrictions on the computer.

He can't access the internet with that computer, and for some reason his floppy drive doesn't work, so I have to transfer everything over on CD. So every attempt is a wasted CD. Any ideas?

Well, download a bunch of NES emulators instead of just one and burn all of them to a CD. You'll only be wasting one CD, then.

I'm pretty sure Nesticle requires dos4gw to run, which can be found via Google (not that I'm recommending you use Nesticle...).

Get a bunch of NES emulators and a standalone installer for DirectX (whatever version still work Win95). I think that would be enough to get a few of the other emus working.

Get some real burning software - one that allows the creation of multisession discs, so you can burn a disc and add data later.

I can't help you with your emulator problems, I'm afraid.

I used to use loopyNES on an old computer that would only run windows 95 (though it's just a DOS program itself).
