Just a quick status update, progress is being made, it's mostly behind-the-scenes stuff that I doubt anyone would be interested in reading.
One thing of interest, I went through the game and found all the monsters that shared the same sprite and palette (Cadet and Templar, for example) and gave them unique palettes. Don't worry about the palettes fitting in,
I am the palette master!
New palettes and a lot of new sprites are going to make the monsters much more interesting, trust me, just wait until you see some of the new bosses waiting for you near the end of the game
See if you can spot the difference in these sprites:
While working with monster graphics Lenophis and I noticed a few had "holes" in them, areas where transparent pixels were used unintentionally. We went on a bit of a crusade to fix them, pretty much
every monster had at least one hole.
