I call what we speak here as american and not english...mainly just because we've butchered the english language by adding laziness and the like. Also, some words like Colour and Armour are spelled differently. Therefore shouldn't it be considered as american?

P.S. My post is mainly intended for comedy.

I dunno, but I think it's got something to do with that creepy avatar of his...
Seriously, why don't I just combine the Brazilian/Portuguese trans under that title?
Any objections?

Yes, if only out of principle. The request is reasonable enough, but it was originally made in such an arsehole-ish fashion it'd be sad to see it honoured. Having said that, combining the two would probably serve the greater good, so best just going ahead. But if you wanted to ban that bloody troll while you're at it, though, that would be peachy.

Your'e right. It would be in the greater good of the site; yet people like Sepherenstien live for shit like this.
To try to make themselves feel important; given, a moment of triumph.
Screw 'em. He didn't win.
He can argue all he wants, if it was theoretically that close to Portuguese, why do a bunch of accredited universities recognize Brazilian as a different language? Because it is.
Just like Spanish has different offshoots (oh, and Spanish is not that far from Portuguese), alll languages have differences in dialect, grammer rules and slang.
Screw it.
This whole thread is just so wrong.

I like to put it this way: We took the language, dropped the parts that didn't make any sense, added our own parts that didn't make sense, and called it the same thing <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

Speaking of calling it "American," I am brought back to an early moment on one of the original TEK boards where this guy started in on Tony because he said he was an American. Apparently, the guy thought he should call himself a United States citizen, not an American, for who-knows-why. It resulted in the guy running away from the board crying and Tony referring to himself as a "USer" for a while, which I thought was pretty funny.

It is the same thing with Croation and Serbian.
They are the same language, yet so different.

Yeah but you still don't classify UK english translations with "Armour" rather than "armor" into British and American. C'mon, give the guy a break and lighten up. Perhaps you SHOULD try some ganja.

It is difficult for Flash to lighten up on this particular poster. He has a tendency to spew ignorant and thoughtless garbage in his posts.

To bad that amusing feud between him and Red seems to be over. I would like to lock them both up in a room and see which one comes out alive or if romantic tensions collide and they come out a couple!
