Default Got bored *again*

I'll let people use their imaginations on this next shot...

...yes, it's a real screen.

How in the world did a Metroid attack one of the weird things in Maridia? *How did the two even make it in the same room?* Man, that's awesome! Guess you found more enemy properties or something.

I put them in the same room.... it's not active (ie- it started and ended like that), but the point is still made...

I've turned Ceres into an integral part of Arena. Metroids are a huge part as well (unlike the other Arena's). As for this screen, let's just say that the two are competitors.

Default D0CF <-- the enemy that could not be

All I can say is whoops. Somehow, a non-existent enemy got placed in SMILE. I'm removing it from the folder for the next release, but if you're unzipping updates into the same location, you'll need to remove this yourself.

In SMILE's enemy folder, it's DOCF.

I haven't mentioned much in the way of SMILE or Arena in the past week, so I'll do so now.

Arena has been at a stand still for a week, but I'm about to pick it up again. Ceres is now an integrated part of the game, but is not the first area of the game. There are now 11 rooms and will be 13, once I can get the dumb shitroid to start working properly. I'll have screenshots in a couple days.

SMILE (unreleased) now has primitive support for the maps of the game, various game properties (such as gravity), and 2 previously unknown enemy properties (what happens when they touch you and what happens when they get shot). I'll be doing a beta release this weekend to testers and will hopefully have an "official" release early next week.

Yessir, that was what I was talking about. Excellent news. I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve with this next hack...

Well, I can tell you that I don't think it's going to be a large mini anymore... I think it's going to be a small regular hack. I've added to SMILE some more things, such as *modifying gravity*, so there may be some unexpected surprizes. You're probably going to have about 10 minutes to escape the planet when the time comes, and you'll need every second. Ceres is now required and is actually going to be about 1/3 of the game (and full of metroids). Also, I've gained the ability to put (some) bosses in rooms they don't belong in . . . And, yes, you can fight the same boss more than once. Have fun with that one:-D

Anyway, a beta of the new SMILE is being tested and will be officially released early next week (say, Tuesday). Screenshots from the next Arena will be available by then. Also, I may do a quick run-through of my TitanicArena to fix the graphical flaws in that one (I really do love that hack).

Default well...

I've been (reluctantly) off-line for the past week. I'll be on briefly each night now though . . . Coming on Saturday, I'll be in New York and on vacation, so you can expect releases galore.

BTW- did you know that if you manage to force your way out of the room with the giant metroid on your back, Samus will remain slow moving until you reload from a save spot?
