If you mean 8-bit in sense of bit depth (8 bits per sample).. you could decode it to a wav, save it as 8-bit in whatever wave editor, then re-encode it to MP3.

But since that would do nothing but deteriorate the quality you must not mean that.


I'm betting by "8-bit" to meant like a chiptune (ie: comprised of squares, sawtooth, and other simple waveforms) -- which really has absolutly nothing to do with 8-bit or bit depth.

But whaveter... there is no way to do such a conversion. The only way to be to recompose the song from scratch with a tracker or something.

Well, I know you can do that via Foobar, but via Winamp I dunno.

Edit: Ah, it will not sound like a chiptune. The sound quality will just ve very low.
