Sound problem

my friend has a HP pavilion zv6000 does anyone know if there is a program that reverses the mic and the headphone jacks, apparently there is a program that does it for the AC'97 chip but i cant find it, any clues?

I'm surprised such a thing is even possible. Audigy and Swamp are the resident sound gurus, so maybe one of them can help you out.

Unless there's some fancy shit out there, it's not.

Microphones and headphones are hard wired differently. You can remap outputs differently because it's just a small software swap to choose which channels are output where, but to swap input and output is probably impossible.

The last 3 motherboards I have bought with onboard sound have used this Realtek Audio thing. To clear up, yes you can switch the jacks around, but I dont think you can choose specifically which jacks you want to be what.

The 2 allowable confuigurations of the jacks are shown below.

Normal:
Pink - Mic in
Green - Line out
Blue - Line in

Surround Sound:
Pink -Side Speaker Out
Green - Sub/Center
Blue - Rear R/L

With the 2nd config you just use the front panel green and pink for the mic and headphones.

This is true. I didn't think about that. But for what he's wanting, i don't think he'll have any luck.
