Default Suikoden PSF

I've checked your PSF list and while you have Suik II (to my delight) somehow you failed to include the first one. Which comes to my question. I have the PS disk with my question is how do you make PSFs and how do you rip the music from the CD. Will it harm it? And Can I submit it to you guys afterwards? Oh yeah and how much memory will it take and most important, is there a reason for me to do it or has someone already achived this and where. Thanks!

IIRC, Suikoden 1's music was all in XA format, so you'll need an XA->WAV ripper for those ones (look on the PSX utilitues section of the site). Once ripped, you can obviously convert them to MP3/OGG/AAC/WMA/whatever...

Yes, Suikoden cannot be ripped to PSF.

The organization of this site is putrid. I only spent 20 minutes looking around the site thinking it was categorized as music as it damn well is. But no, it's in general, where nobody would think to look.

After I finally found it, yay, it's DOS. I can't use it. I am a 2k user. Don't ass nag me to use a hackish method just to try and get it to work (emulator).

As for the music, I haven't played Suiko I or II. Suikoden II's music didn't impress me, neither did III. I can't imagine I being that great either. But, since it's a DOS tool, can't be THAT hard extracting the music...

Dear Stupid:

All the DOS program does is convert the file. It's not trying to playthe file, so chances are it will work from the Win2K commandline. I ran that for an OS for quite a few years, and *most* DOS programs will work as long as they are not games, or something else tht tries to output graphis or sound directly to your hardware.

Further, if you look a few entries up from that, you will find PSMPlay, which does the same thing, but it's for windows.

I haven't played Suikoden 3 as of yet, so can't vouch for its music, however between 1 & 2, there is no comparison in my book. Suikoden 1's music is miles above 2's. I actually bought the soundtrack to 1... I can't say the same about 2...

Also you can get: PSX Multi Converter AKA PSXMC from here: http://homepage2.nifty.com/~mkb/PsxMC/. The site's in Japanese so you'll have to find the link to it.

I generally prefer PSXMC. Besides having support for some games PSMplay doesn't, PSMplay's GUI just pisses me off.
