There's a slight difference between creating an emulator and releasing a new version of the emulator that has literally nothing except the version number changed, just because it's been "too long" since the last version.

That's fine, I don't want a DS emulator in the first place - I'm getting one for Christmas and plan to support it to its dying day.

Yes, we don't need a Nintendo DS emulator. Or a PS2 emulator. Or a GameCube emulator. Or an XBox emulator. Or even a GBA emulator.

Gamecube linux owould of been a hard thing to make without an emu.

or any home made game for the consoles to that matter, so in a way we do need them

Eh? Nowhere on the Gamecube linux website does it mention using a Gamecube emulator to create Gamecube Linux. They used the Phantasy Star Online exploit to put it on the Gamecube, and they used an open source library to compile it.

As Narvick said, there's really no need for a Gamecube emulator. :P

Linux developers need to concentrate more on making it accessible to Joe User, and concentrate less on porting it to toaster ovens and blenders.
