Live with them. Either over here, or over there. They are not going away.

<hr></blockquote>

What makes you think those who believe it's murder are going anywhere either? Thank God people who believed slavery was wrong didn't have this attitude.

Wow, I thought I had browsed through all of them, apparantly I hadn't.
As you said, they are very similar, but I do believe I stand corrected, that is even more accurate.

<hr></blockquote>

It's such an elitist way to approach an argument. Obviously I'm a poltical minority on this board, if you came to a forum full of conservatives I'm sure they would find your unwavering views "close-minded". Fighting out why we disagree is better than disagreeing and throwing out pointless attacks on me and not the argument.

That website is cool, btw

Why post serious things when you'll just dodge them? I've counted at least three threads in which you just stop posting in, regardless of activity.

1. Nothing. Du bist ein dummkopf. I didn't say that, merely that there's plenty of places to get an abortion, and those who want them will get them. Regardless of law, we will not be a more 'moral' people; the 'sinful' and 'evil' and downright 'immoral' desires will remain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CocaineCase in point: the U.S. cocaine trade grossed $35 billion last year. More annually than Microsoft or General Motors.</A> Yeah, those laws work real well, champ! Just like Prohibition!

2. The elimination of slavery was in alliance with liberal and libertarian trends of the time: trends advocating freedom of thought and choice for reasoning, intelligent beings, trends having nothing to do with Christian morality. Consider the South, the slave states. They're now bible belt, the uberconservative. Hmmm... Let's see what http://www.evilbible.com/Slavery.htmze Good Book</A> has to say on the topic. Oh my! We conveniently forgot about that, eh? Like so many things. How about this:

"[Slavery] was established by decree of Almighty God...it is sanctioned in the Bible, in both Testaments, from Genesis to Revelation...it has existed in all ages, has been found among the people of the highest civilization, and in nations of the highest proficiency in the arts." Jefferson Davis, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES CONFEDERACY

You know, it must be incredibly nice, running through time and space with your magic marker, retroactively labelling the critics and rationalists, the movers, the shakers, the people who had the balls to stand up against ignorance and dogma as "good, Christian men."

"Oh yes, this is what we believed all along! Yes, yes! The Church's official position was burning heretics, enslaving hebrews, and slaughtering ragheads just like God razed Sodom and Gomorrah, but the true believers didn't buy it! Yes, we're right and we've always been right! Praise the laawwwwd! Praise the laaawwwwdd! Down with moral relativism!"

The truth is, Danoz, conservatism's already toast. Look at the world today compared to yesteryear, to the medieval times: would these topics even be debatable? No, I'd be a heathen bastard for even considering them, flogged and bitchslapped in the town square -- much as you want to flog and bitchslap people today; women would be in the kitchen and Earth would be the center of universe. Now, we've got drugs, sex, science, and rock n' roll, freely accessible to anyone. Things are progressive, things are changing, and like it or not: on a global scale, conservatives become more and more liberal day by day, year by year, as they have for centuries. Today's Democrats are tomorrow's Republicans, not the other way round.

Yeah, yeah, I know you want it all back. But, y'see, these people want to make their own choices, and decide their own fates; your response is to throw them in prison for it. They've had their fill.

I'll disagree with this, and I think SwampGas would back me up. This forum was made so that bullshit like this wouldn't spill over into Talk of the Town. With things as they are, all of this is in one easily avoidable place.

Its still alive. Just as a plant is alive. Anything with life should be afforded some consideration morally. I wouldn't support laws enforcing it however.

I'm not saying it isn't alive, I'm just saying it doesn't have a mind, or rights. I mean, I flush millions of "babies" down the toilet all the time, and I am never called a murderer.

I disagree, you see, contrary to you I don't get my rules from a book set in stone (you'd think it was, at least, but it keeps changing as it gets disproven! Funny, no?).
What does this mean? It should be obvious, it means my rules are evolving, I make up my own mind on things and decide, but if something comes along and it seems I was dead wrong all along, I will stand corrected. Will you? No, "Gods ways are unsearchable".

As for the reason I point out why you are so much like Ferrous Cranus (aside from the obvious fact that I want to show my contempt for your arguing methods), is that I want you to become aware. I want you to change your style and maybe, just maybe, admit you are wrong once in a while when you are debated so far into a corner you're trying to fend off the arguments with dried paint.

I'm perfectly aware that's too much to ask for, it's a futile attempt, and I know that, but I still try, though I do it mostly just so I can feel better showing how much I despise your attitude towards other opinions and the manner of which you defend yourself (or defend the US).

My reasoning is no different than how I shake my head and comment; "What utter morons...", every time the kamikazi's blow up something in the name of religion. It doesn't change squat except show my contempt for their unwavering completely one-sided ways.

The day you (or any fundamental christian) consider someone elses opinion and actually alters your own, I'll be cheering, running out into the snow and praise the world for all it's glory (and probably freeze to death, accursed Norway).

This stuff is going to occur no matter what. At least with it's own forum, it's easier to handle because it's all in one spot. I remember when I was a mod I didn't have the luxury of this forum and I wish that I did.
