What the hell is with these anonymous phone calls?

Alright, so some automated machine calls my house and says "We have an important message, call us at "1-866-(something), I repeat, we have an important message."

I do believe that these are telemarketers, because if it was REALLY that important, they would FUCKING CALL WITH A HUMAN AND IDENTIFY THEMSELVES.

Has this ever happened to any of you?
