Default Played around with FF5 today and found the SPC code.

Since I know where the SPC code is in FF4 and FF6 I'm thinking about trying to replace/add these two. Yes these don't sound exactly very good but just wanted to let people know that FF5's being worked on--albeit in secret). These SPCs aren't hacked, I've got 2 witnessess that can verify I've found this in FF5.

Discuss.

*edit*
Fucking RAR keeps getting corrupted everytime I upload it. So here use the link above.

I feel your pain! Strange why it does that.

Default Played with RS2 and FF6

Well after spending about 5 hours I semi-figured out how the SPC code works--at least in some games. So I took the battle music from Romancing SaGa 2 and transplanted it into FF6. But I had to play with the instruments to get at least something you could listen to. Granted it's not perfect but still. I used the FF6 battle music's sample set index to make it easier on me. It's incomplete and just meant to be an exercise. I took the liberty of dumping the original RS2 battle spc so you can hear the differences.

Note: this was done to the ROM and not the dumped SPC file. I'm not hacking SPCs here I'm hacking the actual ROM.

Thoughts?

I didn't know that that was possible. Neat.

A much better idea of what I'm doing. Consider RS3 owned, I just finished injecting Celebration March into FF6 tonight: http://www.blitzkrieg.finalconquest....F6-RS3_spc.rar. RS3 is teh owned.

Much thanks, and your efforts are very much appreciated. Got me wondering about all the weird combos, like throwing SF music in an RPG fight sequence, etc...

On another note, being a VGM lover, I was hoping you could repost the hidden FF5 SPCs, the edited link is now a 404.

Thanks.

Thanks. But don't count on transplaning other companies songs into Squaresoft games. They aren't even close to be compatible. You'll have to write/compose the SPCs yourself in the ROM.

Don't know why you would want them, but here you go. They aren't that good, I just posted them for verification.

*edit*
The Home Sweet Home is decent...the other one is crap really.

Ah, that's unfortunate to hear, but understandable. I still have different mix and match games going through my head. <img src=smilies/retard.gif>

In any case, thanks again for the tunes. These hidden tracks are always interesting to me. Keep up the good work.

It would be great if you could import songs from say Star Fox to another non-Nintendo game but I don't see that happening.

They aren't hidden tracks though. <img src=smilies/eek13.gif> What do you mean by "hidden tracks"?
