Default Best console for portable emulation?

Truth be told I'm not really all that interested in newer games. I'd just like something handheld and portable to play various emulators on. So far it seems the GBA emulators are the most developed of all my handheld options. Yet I figured I'd double check on that before I put down the money for a GBA SP or a DS.

so far, the SP is the hands down emulator king out of the big 3. the DS lacks the EXT port to flash the games for an XG2turbo (and others that use the same sort of connection). So if you buy a flash cart you'll probably be required to buy an SP also (though i think the Xrom flash cart uses a seperate connecter, but dont hold me to this). after you drop money on both a flash cart and an SP its up to you if you want to buy a DS (being backwards compatable with the SP) . the PSP doesn't have any emulation out yet (nor has it been hacked).

*nod* The PSP has plenty of emu now. Gameboy Color, Neo Geo Pocket, NES and SNES.

Of course, you need a Japanese revision 1.0 PSP to play them.

Which then means you can't play any games that are new, and are stuck playing the launch games over and over.

No, it just means that if you try to play a newer game, it'll automatically be flashed to version 1.5, and you won't be able to play cracked games anymore.
