Default Is anyone else really disappointed with the state of emulation?

Here we are, how many years since the Xbox was released? 7, 8 years now? And there's one barely working emulator that lets you play one freaking game.

Same thing with the playstation2. There's one emulator that lets you play a handful of games.

I feel like it's 1996 all over again.

I blame piracy and the release of games on easily-to-use media. What's the point of emulating a game when you can just torrent the the ISO and play it on the actual hardware with minimal effort?

I would say namely video game emulation is more daring.

I'm pretty happy with the state of emulation. I can play any NES or SNES game I'd care to, essentially perfectly. This is still awesome.

Maybe you mean the progress of emulation? I'd like to see GC sound working, yeah.

did it ever occur to you that as technology progresses that the hardware gets harder and harder to emulate due to it getting increasingly complicated over time?
