Default SNES emu on PSP

(I posted this before but it never showed up)

Is it possible that a SNES emulator will be made for PSP? Is the actual idea possible, and if so, is there info/projects on this already?

Come back in six months. The PSP just launched a week ago in the USA, and the guys hacking around with it have a way to go before they're executing homebrew code, let alone a SNES emulator, which would take a while in itself...

Chill, etc.

Well it came out in Japan last year, so I assumed someone would have thought of it.

If you mean power-wise, if such a thing could be possible, then I'm sure the PSP could run an SNES emulator pretty well. That being said, these things take time to create, and it'll take awhile before anyone even finds a way to run homebrew code on it, like Audigy said.

With the GBA we were lucky, it was easy to exploit the GBA's MB function.

Well a linux on PSP site was already started, but then again I know next to nothing about creating emulators. Although I'm a tad annoyed that my PSP cannot get into any online game, which seems to be Sony's problem. So I was hoping to find something like an emulator that would keep me busy. Thanks.

I thought this was something supported out of the box with the PSP...is it just a server problem or something? Just wondering, I don't actually have a PSP....I do have a DS, but the online enabled titles for that haven't come out yet.

Well Sony hasn't said anything (they aren't going to announce their servers are having problems right after the PSP is released) but there are thousands of posts on Gamefaqs (and the offical Sony PSP forum) about issues. About 1 out of 100 people can actually get in a game. Myself, I can get into the server and see the game list, but if I try to join any game, it'll say "Cannot join. Game is FULL or INVALID." I've tried multiple access points (my own, Dunkin Donuts, etc) and the error is the same.

Anyways, I was at least wondering if the PSP would be able to support SNES. Glad to hear it.

Jeez, that sucks...you'd think they'd have tried to test them out first, but then I'd think the japanese launch would have helped with that. O_o I can't wait for DS online stuff....Animal Crossing *NEEDS* online play.

I had expected very much out of the PSP, and it somehow surpassed my expectations. Although this probably isn't the place to talk about it. I have AIM if anyone cares to know more.

I suppose if a SNES emulator is started, it'll be discussed around here? I doubt I'll remember to keep looking.

[EDIT] And I suppose I should have noticed the other PSP/emu topic in Tech Talk before I posted this. >.>
