Default job application

i found a job posting in which i will "perform a wide variety of duties relating to developing, implementing and supporting automated production activities, including: providing technical expertise on designing, automating, controlling, reporting and troubleshooting automated production activities; coordinating the configuration and maintenance of the production environment, and providing project planning and management for automated production projects, and providing technical problem resolution". whew. a mouthful. basically, it's what i've been doing word for word for the last 7 years.

here is a letter i'm writing to the person who posted it (names changed incase they lurk around here):

<blockquote>Concerning your posting about the Production Control Analyst position, this letter summarizes my relevant work experience. At the moment, I?€™m self-employed as a freelance programmer who databases and automates web sites as well as internal systems using the latest and most efficient technologies: PHP and MySQL on a Unix or Linux environment. My primary duty is to develop and maintain production automation, but I also help these companies coordinate other efforts, train staff, and generally assume the role of ?€?the computer guy.?€¯

Last year, I opened my own online video game accessories store, which makes use of backend automation on a Linux system using shell scripts and PHP, as well as a frontend PHP/MySQL system that operates as a full e-commerce web site.

I?€™ve been doing exactly what you described in your job posting for the Production Control Analyst for the last 7 years, taking great pride in my work. My friends would consider me a ?€?work-a-holic?€¯ since I?€™m so dedicated to getting the job done and doing it right.

I would love to help HotDogStand in any way I can. My salary requirement is $55,000 - $60,000, given that I can handle the workload of 2 or 3 people, however that is negotiable based on my final placement within the company. I?€™ve included a traditional resume for completeness, but we both know resumes are simply meant to brag, and my real job objectives are to:
<ul>[*]Increase productivity[*]Increase revenue[*]Decrease workload[*]Decrease expenditure[/list]In an interview, we can discuss how I can assist HotDogStand in as much detail as you like. Resumes are just words. I?€™ll show you what I?€™m made of first hand.

Sincerely,

Sam Michaels

P.S. If you use Microsoft technologies to store mission-critical data, have you considered the cost and security risk? I know of a much cheaper, more efficient and secure solution. We can discuss this as well.</blockquote>

that means you can get someone else to run ZD and put more money into it to make it the most "1337355" Emulation site around. *not that it already isn't* besides, doing what you do best and getting paid for it is a definite ++. Good luck!

i didn't mean making money off of it. I meant that make with some of that extra dough, expand bandwitdth, just anything to make the site better than it is, but then when I think about it, it's already top-notch as it is. So nevermind me.

Yeah, but if you didn't like it, you wouldn't do it. I hope you get it, though, Sam.<img src=smilies/thumb.gif>
