You ought to be able to change the bosses, though if I recall it would require knowing assembly and a lot about Mega Man's code. (I can't really help you there, I only have general knowledge of Mega Man)

*edit*
Oh right, you'd of course need to know how to edit the graphics in the game as well. Also, there are some editors you could use to edit the levels in some of the Mega Man games, though it depends on which game you're trying to edit.

I'm not sure what you mean by converting the NES files. Anyway, as far as the NES goes you might want to familiarize yourself with 6502 assembly language. As far as tutorials, you could check out our documents sections. I'm not sure what your familiarity is with programming and such, so you might want to start smaller than assembly hacking...try some things like small graphics hacks first. You should also check out sites such as romhacking.net for even more tutorials and hacking related utilities.

Also, the video...eh, did you try to put a boss in the middle of the level or something? Like I said, I don't know a ton about Mega Man, but from what I've picked up that doesn't work very well (also, I don't think two bosses does either). :P

wait wait wait, hold the phone... are you seriously trying to add in every single robot master at once?
I don't know how many graphics tiles are needed for each robot master, but I'm sure it's quite a bit, and having all 8 fighting you in one go is more than likely impossible, due to memory imitations.

now, each enemy one by one (like in the wily stages in Mega Man 1, if I'm not mistaken)? I think that could be possible, but it would require a SHITLOAD of ASM hacking I'm guessing.

hunh, I see.

well, if you notice, they probably take out most of the level tiles to accomplish this(and leaving only yhe ones for the boss room/hallway). Even still, accomplishing that would take a LOT of ASM work...

I know someone who probably knows more about the way Mega Man works than some of it's original programmers...he had to do things like ASM hacking to get two boss encounters in one level to work, let alone eight at once. :P

if i recall correctly the video Corny showed us was of a .exe file game added to here and rhdn not too long ago. Im guessing the author found it easier to work around memory limitations by not making it a rom patch. But I have next to no experience in ASM or whatever. I just love the end product.
