Default Making a multicart for the GBA

Could anyone point me in the direction of how to make a GBC multi-rom menu / multi-cart for the GBA (or even the GBC if possible, though I'd imagine the size constraints would be much tighter)? Or give me a tutorial link...? I don't know much about rom hacking or creating at all, and all I've ever done was some text editting, but I'm willing to try to learn anything I need to.

Also, could anyone tell me how much space a GBA cart could hold in terms of roms?

Thank you for reading. ^_^

A 256M card can hold about 8 GBA, 100 GBC, or 400 NES games.

And yes, I just googled "GBA 256M Flash Card".

The default software that came with my old GBC XChanger copier automatically added a menu whenever I uploaded more than one ROM to the flash cart. I would presume that most GBA copiers do the same thing.

And GBA multi-carts range from 64MBit to 1GBit, so they can hold anywhere from 8megabytes to 128megabytes of ROMs.

Not entirely true. That 256M is megabits, not megabytes, which means you can hold roughly 32megabytes of roms. Some GBA roms are only 4megs, so you could fit 8 of those, but there are some roms that are 16megs (Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, for example), and maybe some that are larger.

Let's see....GBA carts are measured in Megabits, not Megabytes, and if I remember right, 16 megs is equal to about 128 mbits, so...do the math according to whatever size card you have.

BTW, for a cart with multiple ROMs, IMHO you're much better off using http://www.obsession.se/pocket/PogoShell</a> than one of those simpler Multi-ROM menu things. Not only is it easier, it also manages your SRAM for you, and in a very intelligent way too. Not only that, but it has a very nice GUI for choosing your GBA game, or NES game, or whatever on your flashcart. It also has an NSF playing plug-in.

And Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I was pissed off to realize that after I dumped my cartridge onto my PC. >_< I was hoping I could fit it on my small 128 mbit cart, like I did with Wario Ware. Currently I got Wario Ware, a bunch of NES games (been playing Gauntlet a lot), Final Fantasy Adventure, and The Hobbit on my card. Heh.

Yup I know. The website I went to for this info gave the above numbers as an approximation.

Why couldn't you fit in on a 128MBit cart? It's a 128MBit game.

Because he doesn't know how to trim the ROM.

How do you trim the ROM? Trim all the 0's at the end?
