Desperate and confused-ROMS!
I Just can't seem to get any playstation roms to work! I'm new at all this, you see? I download them, unzip them...and they don't work, with any emulator, what have I done wrong? I downloaded roms from emuparadise, in rar format, and all of them say fatal error when i try to unzip them. Please help, someone?

What are you using to try and extract them? Back when I was on Windows, I would first use 7-Zip to try and extract RAR files, then fall back on WinRAR if 7-Zip failed to work for whatever reason. There were few RAR files I couldn't handle with that combination.

well, you don't "unzip" "rar" archives... where did you get that idea?
also, if you are getting them from emuparadise, it looks to me like alot of them are split, so you must download each and every rar file in order to extract the so called "rom" out of it.
when you do that, you should get a CD image file... this can be ISO, CCD, CUE... etc. but you run this in your favorite PSX emulator.

Fatal error, you say? That doesn't sound good. In the words of Dr. McCoy:
"He's dead, Jim."

eh?
I'm using peazip, it handles, like 15 different types of archiving styles, including .zip. .rar, and .7z. and, yeah, the files on umuparadise are split, but when i attempt to extract any file beyond the first file, i recieve the messege, fatal error. its very frustrating.

If it's a multi-part RAR file, you don't need to extract anything beyond the first file. If you extract the first file (the one with the .rar extension) and it works, then you're done.
