Imus had every right to make that comment, yes. And every person who was offended had a right to be offended. Sponsors then had the right to pull their advertisement, and the company airing Imus had a right to fire him.

It's a circle of rights... this wasn't about government censorship, he DID have the right to say what he said, but the reaction under this pretense is equally as justified.
