Default PS2 files?

Not sure if it counts as a ROM, but I have a few games for PS2 I'm interested in extracting graphical data and audio data from, if that's possible. Right now I'm dealing with the Warriors. I know what file the sound's in, I just gotta figure out how to convert it to .wav without filling up my HD.

But right now I'm interested in extracting the rest of the files, mainly graphics (models, textures) from The Warriors (and possibly Metal Gear Solid 3), and maybe some help with this sound problem.

Anybody know if any of this is possible yet? Do I need to present the names of files listed in the disc?

Your best bet would be to find a RAW image viewer and just go through each file until you see something that resembles graphics. Good luck with that though. As for sound, it possible that it might be in a compressed format, and I don't know how you're going to figure out how to decompress that. It could be anything from mpeg3 encoding to something proprietary. Your best bet would proabably go to <a href=www.ngemu.com>ngemu</a> and ask the people there. They specialize in next gen emulation (hence the name). Good luck with your extracting though, and make sure to document yhour findings and publish them for the rest of the community

Argh, thanks mate, but I can't register there. I'm currently in no position to be accessing my ISP e-mail address.

Does it say you have to send them an email FROM your ISP email address, or say no yahoo or hotmail accounts? If it's the latter, then sign up for something along the lines using the email services of http://eskimobob.comEskimobob.com</a>, that's how I registered for Ebay in the old days.
Or just any odd email account you can get for free.

Damn, I didn't even realise what I'd done until I checked back up on this post.

Change that link from
a href="http://eskimobob.com<font color=#FF0000>'</font>>
to
a href="http://eskimobob.com<font color=#00FF00>"</font>>

It's screwing up flat mode.

Alright, happy funtime!

I found a 90 MB file on the disc, music.snd

using MFAudio, I can play it, and have found the right frequency and interleave, and I can _try_ to rip it, but I run into a problem...

MFAudio has to record it raw, right? Straight to WAV, too.

So far, 34 gigs of free HD space is too small for it.

Any other methods of ripping?

That's around a 300x compression rate if it takes over 34 gb for 90mb of data. Damn that's good. <img src=smilies/cwm11.gif>
