Default Question about Sega Saturn format

Is there anyway to play .SSFs in Winamp? I wish to convert some NiGHTS .SSFs to .MP3s

There is a winamp plugin for SSFs, Highly Theoretical, but it is known to have some emulation issues and it is not being actively developed. http://snesmusic.org/hoot/kingshriek/ssf/See here</a> for other .SSF players and new rips.
There is a command line version of Highly Theoretical with some bugs fixed http://h1.ripway.com/kingshriek/htcore_test.ziphere</a>. That's probably the best tool to use for ripping, see the text file for instructions on how to have it dump to a .wav file, which you can then convert to MP3.
If you absolutely must use the original Winamp plugin Highly Theoretical, http://www.neillcorlett.com/etc/htdemo/here it is</a> on Neill Corlett's site.

No good. Highly Theoretical and htcore don't support NiGHTS, and KBmedia doesn't support conversion.

I find it hard to believe that in all of KbMedia's functionality it doesn't support disk writing.

It doesn't, unless there is something I haven't found yet.

You're right, there's at least nothing built in for recording that I could find, and looking for plugins is an incredibly frustrating exercise. Damn.
SSF is in the latest http://rbelmont.mameworld.info/beta test version of Audio Overload</a> (2.0b9 test 3 as I write this), but sounds worse than the kbmedia version to me. And the wav recording in that sucks. Guess we have to wait a while until things stabilize into a working winamp plugin.
