Default convert smc, nsf into rom file?

I don't know if it's safe to ask this, but I guess it is as you can download the music files from here.

After finding that there is a psf player for the psp, I wanted to find out if there were a way to play other music, specifically smc, nsf, and perhaps usf. I found that the only way to really do that is to convert them into rom form and play through the emulator. What would be the easiest way to do this? or maybe there is a site with premade music files?

Umm, SMC is an SNES Rom format. Are you sure you don't mean SPC?

Well, only one I know of those you listed that has an easy no-nonsense way of doing this is SPC. Look in the Sound Utils of Zophar's Domain for SPC2ROM....just run all the SPCs through this program and it will spit out a ROM for each of them.

*edit*
Ah, here's the http://www.zophar.net/utilities/download/SPC2R100.zipLink</a>.

Here's one that plays several formats you mention: Game Music Gear

Also an older one, not sure if it's the same program (I don't have a PSP): Game Music Emu for PSP v0.1

hey, thanks for that. Game music emu wouldn't work for me, even with graphics.h and the data folder. GmG works great but is incompatible with .rsn files (I got these from snesmusic.org) but that is fine, I can use the one by one spc files.

Your SNES can play MP3s?

I thought he wanted nintendo music on his psp. I also thought the psp could store and play mp3's.

Oh that's right, I must have been tired or something. At any rate, if he wants to mess with it, the good thing is that SPC is a format that is lossless, unlike MP3s. The SMCs of such a thing would also be lossless. That's perhaps why.
