I don't remember what it was...some reference to jail time you made in some other thread. I don't remember the details.

I thought it was a well known fact that I was locked up for a couple of years, pretty much at the same time Pachuka was (for unrelated reasons.)

Ah, well I guess I'm not up on people's criminal records. Had heard about Pachuka before though.

Illegally entering and using an automobile in your case, illegally entering and using a minor in PACHUKA's case, IIRC?

Really? For Kazaa? I knew that thing was the devil. That's why I don't use P2P software.

My friend's ISP called them and told them not to illegally download movies... I asked him how they knew that.

Strange how the right to privacy seems to get ignored on the internet even though you have the same basic rights irregardless of the medium you choose to exercise them on. I'm sorry but no law can circumvent that. Or at least in theory it isn't supposed to. (Even though B.B. likes to poop on our rights everyday)

I'd like to hit the prosecutor in the head with a brick for you InVerse. That is total bs. This is exactly why child molesters and murderers run free. Arrrgh... I must stop... political discussion *HEAD EXPLODES*

There I'm better now...

Eh, I didn't get caught *because* I was downloading on Kazaa, I got caught because I was a fucking moron and left something on a computer I shouldn't have because I was going through a near mental breakdown due to trying to rebuild a 50+ person company's entire IT infrastructure single handedly.

As for how the ISP knew he was downloading illegal movies... It doesn't necessarily mean the ISP was spying on him. A friend of mine got a letter from his ISP recently saying that they had received a complaint from the MPAA about him downloading movies illegally via Bittorrent. They didn't actually accuse him, they just said they didn't know if it was true or not and wanted his input. His response was "I had a friend look at my network and it turns out that our WiFi was wide open (which was true) but we've fixed it now (which was true)" so nothing else came of it, Mostly because he then installed Peer Guardian to keep the MPAA from being able to connect to his torrents. Ironically enough, the movie that he got the complaint on was Casino, a 10 year old movie that was playing on TV but that he didn't want to watch with commercials/censorship. All of the <0 day movies we grabbed never got a complaint, but the one he was too lazy to wait for Netflix to send did.
