Edit: actually now that I think about it, I think there was also a Piece of Heart, but that and the flute are all I remember the shovel being good for, which pissed me off, since that "You got a shovel! Dig around-- you never know what you'll find!" message got me digging all over the place in vain. =P

yea..i remember finding that thing when i bought an old atari at a garage sale. only realized a while later what a big deal it was to the industry. but my god was that a bad game!

1) E.T. is dirt common. Even Super Mario Bros. 3 is less common.

2) The carts that were buried were destroyed first and a concrete slab was poured on top of them.

That's nothing, I scored Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia, and Secret of Evermore from the local Goodwill for $2.99 each! Beat that! XD
