Default Need to find a GOOD N64 emulator that's 100% COMPATIBLE with Wndows Xp Pro

I NEED HELP!! PLEASE!
I need to find a GOOD STABLE RELIABLE N64 emulator that's 100% COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS XP PRO. here are the specs of my PC: AMD Athlon 64 CPU, 1 (one) gigabyte of memory,180 gigabyte HDD ASUS A8V motherboard with Realtek AC'97 onboard sound chipset and NVIDIA 3D video card with 128 megabytes of onboard ram. Now where can i find the LATEST N64 emulators online? I've tried the older versions of emulators like "1964" and "PJ64" but they kept giving me "cannot Read Memory" errors and 1 of the 2 emulators kept crashing sometime when i use it.Now ANY GOOD RELIABLE information on where i can find the LATEST N64 emulators (Counting backard) that were developed between this year,2007 and going as far back to 2005 that i can download like i've done with emulators in the past (like downloading emulators from zophar.net) that are 100% Free and must be EXTREMELY eazy for me to configure to my system! GOING NUCKING FUTS here trying to find one

I've always had trouble with them an xp pro also. I just figured it was because I had my disk formatted NT instead of fat32 or something like that.

Typing in all caps makes people cry. You'll only get laughed at when you do that.

Google. And pay no attention to any ZD hits, this poor site is a dead duck (it hasn't been updated in close to 4 years).

You can't set the files, the entire hard drive would have to be erased in the formatting. Now if you had another harddrive or partition with win98 you could definitely run PJ64. I think it might have something to do with either system security if it isn't the formatting of the drive or something in the background running like system restore. Even though PJ64 runs more games better I actually liked UltraHLE the best since it always seemed to run even though some games had glitches it would actually run them.

It also may be something to do with DirectX and other runtimes that MS has come out with in the last few years or even Nvidia driver which usually such ass but now I have an ATI card and it seems slower but much more stable.

Try UltraHLE, it always worked when other programs claiming to be more stable and faster crashed on me quickly.

NTFS you mean, right? I don't have XP Pro, but I have my discs formatted as NTFS and PJ64 works fine for me, so unless NTFS is radically different in Pro that isn't it.

To Gary...have you had any problems with other programs (like 'cannot read memory' errors, or a random black screen and restart, or any files becoming screwed up)? If so, and I urge you to do this anyway, go find something like MemTest on Google and see if it gives you any errors.

Sounds like you have a memory (RAM) problem or something wrong with your VIDEO RAM. Try running some memory diagnostic utility (Google it, I have never used one)
This poor site has some good reference to older N64 emulators but try going to NGemu . they have a pretty good collection.

Also, what is your specific video card model? I figure that it might be Direct X 9 compatible becase of HOW much VRAM it has.

This thread has some really good and astonishingly bad advice in it.

99.9% chance it's because you're running the stock Windows driver for your onboard video chipset. Find a real driver, and I bet Project 64 (Which really is the best) works fine.

p.s. Jabo's D3D, the default video plugin for P64, will give you non-fatal errors if you're running in a window. This seems to be tied to integrated chipsets (Mine has this problem), but I have Intel graphics; nVidia chipsets/drivers may not have that problem.

Regardless, as said these are non fatal, and you can just tell it OK and go about your merry way.
