While he does kind of confirm that it was just put in the Gamecube, I still have my reservations.
Like, if you look at the rom size of both OOT and Master Quest...they are the exact same size. Wasn't Ura Zelda supposed to go above and beyond with new enemies and what not? And it was claimed that one of the reasons if wasn't released on the N64 was its size prohibited it from fitting on a standard cartridge.
Master Quest isn't remotely close to what Ura was claimed to be.

Not calling Iwata a liar, but I think this may just be another conspiracy. lol.
I'm not sure if that's what it was meant to be or not. I mean, this is at least confirmation that Master Quest is based in some way on Ura Zelda. It's too bad that info on that stuff seems to have fallen through the cracks. @_@

I'll try to remain optimistic because as long as there remains interest in Ura Zelda, more details should leak out. Thankfully, The Legend of Zelda has no difficulty in retaining the interest of its rabid fan base.

Heh, that's certainly true.

There are still some references to the 64DD in the Master Quest debug ROM. If one opens the ROM like a .txt file, there is a value called SAVE_64DD=%x, for example.

With absolutely no documentation to begin with, it may prove difficult. But I remember someone posting a link to a site here on Zophar of some dudes pursuing 64DD development.
And the fact that it would be non-canon, why not just let it die?

well, I don't think anyone has data for Ura Zelda on a 64DD disk....I *think* it was more for stuff like Doshin the Giant, or the F-Zero track editor (which seems pretty awesome).
