Default Loudness war

For those who don't like how Metallica's Death Magnetic was mastered, you should check the Guitar Hero III version of DM. There's no clipping at all on this version.

Death Magnetic is the first album I've bought that contained clipping. After some research, I've noticed that Red Hot Chili Peppers does too.

After looking over the wikipedia article, I have yet another reason to avoid purchasing CDs from popular bands...

Strange that they would do that, though it completely explains why I keep having a nagging feeling that most of my CDs need to be run through a normalizer

Yeah, I want my CDs with no presets, with "flat" equalizers, so I can mess with my equalizer on my stereo. Too bad about Death Magnetic, the album is excellent, but it sounds like the speakers are broken, even at a low volume.
