I don't fear change, and I certainly wouldn't attribute the stagnation of the video game industry to crappy controllers. The market has been suffering from a SEVERE lack of good, serious RPGs, and serious side-scrolling platformers. Give me something that can top FF6, Star Ocean II, Baldur's Gate II, Metal Slug, Chrono Trigger, etc that doesn't rely on pretty graphics to sell.

But you are right, there is a possibility that this controller may very well rule, but I'm not optimistic. I'm also a little disappointed with their decision to use the octagonal joystick design again. My N64 has those, and the paint rubs off and makes them all scratchy and unpleasant to use.

I like it, personally.

Nintendo also announced that you can use normal Gamecube controllers (hence their ports being included) for 'standard' games, if this doesn't strike your fancy.

But I like it, personally. I can't wait to try it.

Honestly, how are you supposed to play Street Fighter 4, or a FPS on that thing?

Come on Nintendo.

They're going to sell specialized controllers.

Heh. IGN has a post about playing a demo of Metroid Prime 2 with it, and mentioned that you'd use the analog stick to move, but tilt the controller to look around. It seems quite clever.

Yeah I read that after I posted that last msg.

I'm still not convinced.

Default No, let's not. Let's just bash it instead (stfu Gavin) :P

I'll play games with a controller, not a remote, kthxbai.

Funny you say that, because it just so happens that this is the revolution controller, not the revolution remote.

I will say this. Looking at the position of abxy, that thing will turn Nintendo thumb into Nintendo hand in a hurry unless you change your grip on the damn thing every time you go to hit those buttons. If you're going to make a 1 handed controller, put all the buttons around the same area! Seriously.

I like interesting things myself, but that does not look like a good interesting.
