That's Cowering's fault. He's the one that adds all those roms in his goodtools.

Re: rant. seriously this is emulation related.
Although, you may already be aware of this from reading the Cowering docs on the ROM nomenclature meanings, it's worthwhile to mention for those who don't know as well.
First off, delete all the worthless overdumps ([o1], [o2], etc.) and bad dumps ([b1], [b2], etc.]). There's really no point in keeping them (especially the bad dumps). I still to this day don't understand the people who collect those on purpose... and furthermore, bother to include them in the renamer listings in the first place...? Why anyone would want an improperly dumped image just occupying space is beyond me. <img src=smilies/retard.gif>
That right there will cut down the number of ROMs in your list tremendously, not to mention some of the others you can discard right offhand too if you don't care about them. Trained ([t1], [t2], etc.) (also worthless in my opinion), hacks ([h1], [h2], etc.) that don't bother to specify what was hacked (if it's a worthwhile hack, it's bound to list a different name, or something specific that was hacked... hell, even not-so-worthwhile ones specify in a lot of cases), & translated ([T-whatever] or [T+whatever]) come to mind (at least for translations to languages you don't speak anyway).

Re: rant. seriously this is emulation related.
I got an SNES collection in which every game had the correct name, but the extensions were all deleted. No double-clicking on them! Also, there are 20 or so "games" that are just hentai pics where you press "B" to go to the next pic. What's worse, they're already on CD.

Re: rant. seriously this is emulation related.
There's a few "bad dumps" that are actually the correct dumps.
I think one of the RBI Baseballs that GoodNES marks as bad is a proper dump. Not sure which.

Actually I didn't know this, so I'll keep this in mind. Thanks for the info.

Probably are a few...some of the Good sets have some weird stuff. For example, I downloaded a ROM that was supposed to be the japanese version of Illusion of Gaia (by the GoodSNES name)...but it was a beta version of the US version. O_o What the hell is up with that? I mean, it's so obvious that's what it is if you play it for a second.

Thanks, I could just make that in a batch and run it from Windows.
I just don't want to copy the collection off the CDs.

Huh? Are you referring to Mandrake Linux? I use Windows.
