Eh? Nowhere on the Gamecube linux website does it mention using a Gamecube emulator to create Gamecube Linux. They used the Phantasy Star Online exploit to put it on the Gamecube, and they used an open source library to compile it.
As Narvick said, there's really no need for a Gamecube emulator. :P
