Default Joe & Mac level editor information

I want to make a level editor for the NES version of Joe & Mac, can anyone give me information on how to do it? I've always wanted to edit the levels of the NES Joe & Mac. So please help me out if you can, thanks.<img src=smilies/flipa.gif>

What are your current programming capabilities? What are your current romhacking capabilities?

Editing them with what? In a hex editor, or using level editors?

Using level editors as they are much easier to use than hex editors.

Yeah, editing in a level editor is much different than editing in hex, so if you can't do that you probably can't program a level editor.

You'd also need to know how to go about programming a level editor (Which would consist of opening the ROM, loading graphics from the ROM, decompressing and loading the level data from the ROM, and finally recompressing and saving the levels back to the ROM).

if you know anything about programming.. making a level editor is pretty much just having your program read the hex, display it in a level-built fashion, and be able to take changes made, convert it back to the hex, and put it back into the rom. If you know how to edit the levels using hex, and you are a decent programmer it's really not that difficult to do.
