You know how much I hate WinXP...I'm frankly shocked it's not crashed but once since I installed it and been able to run almost 19 days without a problem.

Heh, only on Windows is a 19 day uptime something to brag about.

I remember an old Novell server (version 2 something) at a company I used to work for having a 7+ year uptime.

The Netware 3 server where I work had an uptime of like 4 years, but then that huge blackout came. We didn't have gas generators or anything, so we didn't stand a chance of riding it out.

???
71/2 days at the moment, It can go higher depends on what I'm doing. I've remember seeing the these post before long ago and thinking I've had 23days before or something. What's the point if I'm not going through large pics files, and just browsing the internet once a day I don't any problems.

That sucks. We eventually took ours down to replace the dying HDD. I remember calling some of the lab techs and software devs into the server room to express their appreciation to the old girl right before I powered it down. I still have one of the platters from that drive as a keepsake.

Most Netware servers that I've seen have been rock solid stable and can run for years without incident (provided the hardware and power grid is up to the task of course). BSD is also excellent in this regard. My old 386DX-25 BSD server ran for a little over 3 years before I took it down for upgrades.

it means system idle time is NOT your uptime.
