My last hope

...is working 78 miles away in Oklahoma...yea this is going to suck. Working a 9:30am to 9pm shift driving 1hr 20min to and 1hr 20min from. I'm not excisted about it. Extensive miles on my car...and I am NOT moving farther north. Where I live is my home town...I don't feel like leaving. So I have to choose:

1) live in my car homeless
2) work 50+ hours a week in oklahoma--and lose $300-$400 in freaking gay ass state taxes

Gee what a wonderful set of choices huh? <img src=smilies/puke.gif>

What about both? Crash in your car a couple of days a week in the parking lot where you work, and go home the others. Save on gas and time....just have to find a shower somewhere.

what the hell? a job 78 miles away cannot be the only job you can get. the gas prices alone will be astronomical and SO not worth it. maybe i'm missing something.

IceWolf has a good point, or maybe see if you have a buddy that lives there, and stay with him/her 2 or 3 nights a week. Let them know that (if you can afford it) you would like to pay at least some amount of rent (say $100 a month or so) and maybe things will pick up.

i've now read the whole thread and my statement still stands. hehe. it's an old thread, so i wont bring it back up. i'll just let it go. i do that with most of the threads these days anyway, which is why i dont usually post much. "meh".

I said fuck working in Oklahoma...I'm about to start working the graveyard shift at Super Target...so yea at least it's something. Had to pull some strings to get this job.

Ugh, and I think driving 40 minutes away is bad. I probably spent a half of days pay on gas every week this summer. I'd tell you to carpool, but I don't think you've got people nearbye doing the same deal. If the job was really necessary, I'd either move- or I wouldn't take the job. However, if you need it-- you may have to buckle down and make something work.

Job market sucks here in Ohio, too. I don't particularly enjoy my summer job, but I know it pays for school so I work it hard. Hopefully they'll give you decent hours and pay... just work your ass off and show them your work ethic can't be replaced.

This is why I refuse to travel anymore than 10 minutes to my crappy job. It only takes me 3 to get there. Now, once I get the kind of good work I deserve, then I won't mind making the longer trips.
