Default Want to move home folder

I just got a new HDD as my current one is nearing full limit and I was wondering how I would go about moving my HOME folder to this drive.would I be able to just copy everything to it and have the drive mount at /home/(name) ? or would that break my system? or maybe mount it elsewhere and link it to the HOME folder?

Almost. You shouldn't separate individual users' home directories. Just move all the home directories to the new drive and mount it at /home and you should be good.
