Default Anyone guess what the hell is wrong with my sound?

I think I've had this problem for as long as I've been using THIS computer. I tried getting a new sound card, but that didn't fix the problem (on the bright side, now I have a new 24bit sound card ). Now it's starting to bother me. The sound output gives out a lot of feedback--fuzz and stuff, and it even picks up computer comands and visual actions, like window popups and Winamp Visualizer for example. Does anyone here know what might be the problem?

Try this:

1) Open up the volume controller (double-click the sound icon).

2) Go to Options -> Properties and make sure every item is checked. Press OK.

3) Start muting things (starting from the right) until the sound stops.

If you're lucky, it's just some kind of uneeded addition to your mix and this will find it and shut it up. If not, I hope someone else has a fix

I think it's coming off the computer itself, because it makes that noise when EVERYTHING is muted.

No, it's a new monitor. It's an LCD, but it'll still make that noise even when the sound is hooked up directly. I'd like to hook the sound up to my audio reciever, but it gets too much feedback that it's noticable.
With that thought, perhaps it may be my graphics card, 'cause this graphics card, some kind of Radeon, has been on the computer as well for as long as I have ever used it. I kinda hope this isn't it because I don't really have an extra graphics card on me (IDThink I do) and I definitely don't have money.

ok, does it sound like it's coming from the panel or the PC? is the sound high frequency or low frequency? Is it more like static? does changing the brightness/contrast change the sound?

inquiering minds want to know.

From what he said it sounds like it's coming from the speakers.

I've had this problem in the past actually -- like I could hear my cordless mouse moving through the speakers -- there was a slight fuzz. I can't for the life of me remember what caused it or what solved it. The only thing I can remember changing is the PSU and the addition of a DVD burner... which I remember switching around some sound card stuff for.

Do you have one of those audio cords connecting your CD drive(s) to your sound card? Could it be not quite on right? or even broken? Try unplugging them and see if that makes any difference. I doubt it since you already tried muting everything, but that's the only thing I can think of =/

and it could be completly possible that the speakers are built into the panel. Look, if the noise differs when different things happen on screen, then it is more than likely something faulty in the panel.

I've had that same problem before at my school's Multimedia room using headphones. It sounded as if there were another set of SFX for different window events such as minimize, maximize, restore, etc. Odd thing was, there was no difference in these sounds when I changed the window size. Also, in Flash, the textbar area resize would make different sounds when being adjusted, being locked on to width, and being locked on with the text.

You may have a conductor broken inside your speaker cord. This usually happens near the jacks. Try replacing the cord. Before replacing the cord, get a pair of stereo headphones and test the sound card out that way. If it is clear, you know that there is somthing wrong with the speaker cord or the speaker themselves.
