"Dating a girl whose father is a preacher and who herself is studying to become a preacher is like looking at a beautiful candybar, with everything you've ever wanted in a candybar, that you know will be utterly delicious. But between you and the candybar, there's a window. And the window is also bulletproof. And also, the window has some sort of coating so that it doesn't break from explosions. And the candybar is guarded by attack dogs that have had their vocal cords cut so you won't hear them coming. And also there's a grid of lasers protecting the candy bar, so you have to go in and get it all Mission Impossible-like. Wait, what?"

My own mind, actually. There was this one really, really cute chick hitting on me in my Astronomy I lab, but as we got to talking, she let on that her dad's a preacher, and she's studying to be a preacher. We also had a good conversation about religion, and there were actually no disagreements. She invited me to coffee, which I normally wouldn't refuse, but it's at some ministry thing, with a bunch of other people. So I basically had to say that I'd love to, but I couldn't make it to the ministry meeting, since for the next four weeks I'll be completely occupied working on my thesis. Which wasn't a lie, at least.

All mine are pretty much movie quotes:

"No one has any control over life and death unless that person is taking lives and causing death." - FBI Agent in Final Destination

"Evil begets evil" - The Bible somewhere I believe, but also in the 5th Element said by Cornelius

"You ate my ear. You killed your wife. You framed me! And you're mad at me for LYING?" - Keanu Reeves in the only movie I thought Keanu Reeves acted well in, Feeling Minnesota

and probably one of the most chilling...

"If you take away the horror of the scene, take away the tragedy of the death, take away all the moral and ethical implications that have been drilled into your head since grade one, do you know what you're left with? A 105-pound problem that needs to be moved from point A to point B." - Christian Slater in Very Bad Things, describing the dilemma of getting a dead stripper into their SUV.

Roger 'Verbal' Kint, actually. I'm not sure if "The Usual Suspects" is the originator of that quote though, but it's an awesome quote.

"When we have meat before us and such eatables we receive the impression, that this is the dead body of a fish, and this is the dead body of a bird or of a pig; and again, that this Falernian is only a little grape juice, and this purple robe some sheep's wool dyed with the blood of a shell-fish: such then are these impressions, and they reach the things themselves and penetrate them, and so we see what kind of things they are. Just in the same way ought we to act all through life, and where there are things which appear most worthy of our approbation, we ought to lay them bare and look at their worthlessness and strip them of all the words by which they are exalted. For outward show is a wonderful perverter of the reason, and when thou art most sure that thou art employed about things worth thy pains, it is then that it cheats thee most." - Marcus Aurelius
