Eh, give it time...XP was garbage until SP1. I was on the XP Beta and detested it. I stuck with 98 even though I had the FCGK version of XP 2 months before it was comercially available. I didn't officially switch until about 6 months later.

Driver support does suck ass...but that will improve as more vendors take the time to create better/working drivers.

Turn off the User Account Control. It is mad lame, but its their latest attempt at idiot/spyware/malware proofing windows.
...its in the user and account settings in the control panel btw.

Again, obfuscation to prevent meddling by those who don't know what they're doing to prevent them from huring themselves.
> Vista is a miserable failure
Eh, I still prefer XP over Vista...but I just need to use it more. Probably as I use it on a daily basis I'll get to like it and get annoyed at XP for its lack of user features.
...pretty much like the way I perfer Opera over Firefox now.
So, give it time...take it out to dinner, romance it a little bit. It may be "the fat chick" to you right now, but get to know her a bit better and maybe she'll do something for you in return. Not officially endorsing yet, but giving it a shot.
