Well, if you told us what it is you wanted to do, it might help.

I suppose, but I don't think I remember any sheep in that game.

Sheep...no. No sheep. I remember when I got that game for Christmas years ago. The grass in the first world looks like popcorn... or sheep, in disguise.

First off, you want to get ycompress from FuSoYa. It's available at http://www.zophar.net/utilities/sneslevel.html (since FuSoYa's site is down at the time of posting this). Open up a Command Prompt (the C:\ symbol) and navigate towards the folder containing both the yoshi's island rom and ycompress.exe. Type ycompress.exe to find out the next instructions then follow them. Open up the *.bin file that is produced by following the directions and edit the sprite in a tile layer. As for putting them back into the rom, I haven't tried that yet. But everything up to that point should work.

I have this, The program won't accept any command prompts, it just closes the program when I do that.

If it's XP, click the start button, go to all programs, then open accessories, then click on command prompt. type in cd [whatever file name to get to the one with the the ycompress.exe and the yoshi's island rom with "\"s (not "/"s)]. Eg:

This is what should come up (usually)
C:\
if not type in cd .. until you get to this (if you don't know how to mess with the command prompt for the rest of the steps) Once at C:\, type the address of the location of ycompress with the yoshi's island rom:
cd Documents and Settings\All Users\Nintendo\Editing\SMW2 Yoshi's Island

That should change your C:\ to have all that after it. Type it in exactly because you can't copy and paste. It also helps to change your yoshi's island rom to be one word (no spaces) when using ycompress. The hardest part is to access ycompress without it closing.

I have XP, you have to do it this way unless someone has a better idea.

You can copy and paste into a command prompt under XP. You copy whatever you want to the clipboard, and right-click and hit paste. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Alternatively...search on MS's site for the XP Command Prompt Here powertoy. With that installed, you can merely right click the folder you want to open the command prompt into and just open one right up.

There's something similar to this for Win98 as well.

Man, I didn't know either one of those (including Dan), I'm going to have to get caught up.
