Ideas for Super Metroid hacks.

I remember after learning air dash and speed ball(http://www.classicgaming.com/mdb/sm/mikez.htmhere</a>) I was looking for places to try that out. I'm thinking it might be cool to have places where those two tricks can be used. It doesn't seem likely that you could make friendly creatures that could teach those tricks, but that would be pretty sweet. Also, wall jumping is pretty fun, but many times in the original SM levels.. the wall jump defeats the purpose of the grappling beam. It might make the game more interesting if the grappling beam were really needed to get through some parts of the game(the more the better I think).

One more thing, it'll probably be complicated to implement and take a lot of coding. Maybe it's even impossible.. But I was thinking how cool it would be if the speed booster could be used to run up walls like Neo or Sonic(well, running through loops in his case). Maybe even on the ceiling... It's kind of random but it could be an interesting topic..

Feel free to post other ideas. as well as opinions ;D

I think there should be more places for using the wall jump. I can wall jump like a fool...it's funny, when I was younger (years ago when I first played Super Metroid on a real SNES) I couldn't do it very well but now I can pull them off so easy it's crazy.

I haven't released any official info on my hack, but lets just say the new item makes the grapple beam more important in certain areas. All becuase of there being some surfaces samus *might* not be able to wall jump on..... or maybe i've just removed walljumping alltogether.

you're requests are already part of my hack my friend. and have been since I mapped out the game. =)

Play my hack, in the first water level, you get the grappling beam, you absolutely need it to get out.

Care to reveal the secret?
I can never do them (ranks right up there with Ys 6's dash jump as most annoyingly-hard-to-execute video game move. :P ) Am I supposed to run at the wall, press Jump and towards, then the instant I hit the wall, Jump and Away?
(also, what crazy person made the default controls for this game? A=jump, B=dash, X=SHOOT??? At least they were wise enough to make a config menu)

Re: how to wall jump

Very easy my friend, run like you said, spin jump before you hit thye wall, when you make contact with the wall (while spinning) push away from the wall (opposite d-pad button) and then his jump almost at the same time, but slightly afterward.

walljumps are easy

You'll also notice samus pushing away from the wall slightly if you do this right. Look for that, that might help your timing.

hey and when your good enough you can even (I call it like that) Uniwall jump , the trick is to redo the wall jump on the same wall (who would use 2 anyways? lol) and if playing on an emulator well, use a slowmotion featur (like on Zsnes) and practice till you do it right evry 3 try then take off slow motion!! well hope it also adds to the tutorial for wall jumping!

Oh yeah...that's easy. It can take awhile though, it's not as quick as regular wall jumping would be since you lose a bit of height.
