MSI piece of shit

My MSI Neo Platinum motherboard sucks.

The fucker won't reboot, the CPU temps don't read right, and I'm not sure what else is wrong with this piece of shit.

Newegg won't refund it - I was stupid enough to get a non-refundable board, because of the lavish praise heaped on the board by users, and found out that it's a piece of shit afterwards.

So I'm stuck with a $130 motherboard that I'm completely unsatisfied with, and can't do anything about. I'm thinking about getting a new one, an ASUS this time, but I'm not sure what I'd do with the mobo that I currently have. Any suggestions?

Well, the ASUS route sounds like the best way to go, as for the motherboard, your best bet would be to eBay it for what it is - an MSI Neo Platinum motherboard.

Since it sounds like you're not selling this "piece of shit", I moved the thread.

I wouldn't do Asus. The last couple of boards I had from Asus were shit upon arrival. Just my personal opinion on it. I suggest Gigabyte.

Call MSI and RMA' it?

RMA it to MSI. They generally hate defects.

A local service center (that I know well) replaces 10 of the newest ASUS MoBo's a week, but, has only 10 of any given MSI board on hand at a time (at most). I think you may have just gotten a dud. They happen.

Did I really post it in Classifieds? Holy shit. I've never misposted before.

The problem is that the BIOS temp problem is one that is widely known, apparently, because everyone else is having that problem.

The reboot problem...I really wish I could pin it down. I thought it might be because my system is sucking too much power from my 420W power supply, but someone (I think mFC) said that they were running a system on a 200 something watt power supply...so I'm fairly sure it's the mobo.

With more reason you should call MSI and bug them. They should have a manufacturer's warranty, they should be able to help you.

420 should be plenty of juice for everything unless you have a geforce 6xxx series card or a raid controller with multiple HDs...NEVER EVER attempt to run a modern system with a 200W supply unless it's one of those mini atx things.

Oh, and by the way.

MSI's forums can suck it. I posted, asking what could be the cause of my problem, and my topic is dropping to the bottom of the forum like a stone. Fuck them.
