Even looking only at his music, Michael Jackson's influence on the artists I care about has been practically zilch. He had a lot of influence on the makers of boy bands and pop divas, which is not really a positive contribution...

Billy Jean is a good song, though.

OBJECTION!

While his music videos were indeed influential (with the most notable one being thriller) he did not single handedly create them. Music videos have been around in one form or another ever since film had been invented, way before Jackson was even born.

And that doesn't change the fact that he's become rather creepy to me at this point.

I wonder what it says about people that "pop" music is best made by an adult with the mind of a 10-year-old.

All I can add is that I'm disappointed that Disneyland took out the amazing 3D movie starring MJ: Captain EO. Understandably because his personal life had become a scandal. But still, I don't like when we rewrite history in order to achieve semblance of political correctness.

Incidentally, they changed Pirates of The Caribbean ride as well to remove any pirates chasing women because that's sexist and promotes woman abuse. Well they are bloody pirates after all.

I still have love for MJ!
