In no particular order, here are some sneak peaks at my next arena hack . . . This one is still just a mini-hack, but it is going to be much more extensive than my previous mini's:

People have been playing around with this for testing purposes, though it hasn't *officially* been released yet. For more screenshots (or to test it out), stop by #jzd at irc.acmlm.org . . . Someone'll be there.

Yeah! Noticable gfx changes with Spore Spawn and the Chozo Statue's item. Doesn't look like you've added "map" editing support yet, by the screenshots :). But this is definitely the next biggest change since FX1 support. Nice color changes, especially the blue door in the second and third pics. Nice to know enemies will be able to be changed to be in different rooms.

*can hardly wait for the hack or next release of SMILE :)*

Depends on how extensive you want to get with the thing. If you're referring to a nearly identical version, heck no. If you mean the basic feel of those two games, then yes.

Was going to, for today's release, but... Left the source code in MA when I came to NY for T-Day. It's on the to-do list.

Actually, SMILE's allowed this for a while . . . You just have to make sure the enemy is on the allowed list.

Actually, I would find this helpful as well. I would like to make a hack based on the original Metroid, like Zero Mission.

I got bored and.....

I've also gotten the bomb torizo and spore spawn to work in the "wrong" rooms now too . . . For those who didn't know, bosses and mini-bosses have proved to be *much* more difficult in moving. (Ridley is extremely friendly in this aspect though, unlike Kraid, that mo-fo).

FYI- Since I know someone's going to ask... Yes, it is possible to have to fight the same boss several times.

That looks awesome. I especially like the area with the monitors, crazy blue fog and the giant metroid. Just wondering though...does it have the same pallete problems the other one before it had? Either way though, I'm gonna play the hell out of it. :)

I assume you're referring to how the last one got glitched up after Crocomire (and Crocomire himself looked like shit)? If so, I've figured out how to eliminate bugs like those (if caught early enough). The current mini has NO graphical glitching whatsoever. I do plan on keeping it that way.

I've updated http://jathys.zophar.net/index.htmlmy page . . . I've put up a "vomit" page, which shows screenshots of common glitches and instructions on how to fix them.

I ought to guess that it would be hard, but another neat improvement would let the map work for hacks, instead of it being like the game's map.
