Emulated Halo vs. Halo PC

Hi.

Does the emulated xbox version of halo look better than halo PC? lets compare them at the same resolution, say 1024X768

And how is the framerate on the xbox emulated version compared to the pc.

The only reason I would want to emulate xbox halo on pc is if it looked\played better.

Also keep in mind. I run would run them on a Radeon 9700pro.

Thanks Alot.

Hi there!

I've never done a direct side-by-side of the two, but IMHO Halo PC looks a lot better than the X-Box version. The reflections on the side of the base in Blood Gulch, the glow of the plasma weapons, and the windshield of the Warthog all look noticeably better than their X-Box counterpart.

That being said, I prefer the X-Box version over the PC one.

You keep acting as if that has anything to do with it. Last I checked, the only XBox emulator that emulated Halo could do so only at around 5 frames per second on a top-notch system with severe graphics glitches. So no, you kind of have to either play the PC version on the PC or the XBox version on the XBox. <img src=smilies/headshake.gif>

Ok, thanks alot guys.

Also when I say compare the 2 I mean compare both of them at the same resolution on a pc.

You don't seem to understand that emulating the XBox and running Halo will be MASSIVELY SLOWER than just running the PC version. What's so hard to understand about that?

And that's even if it runs at all.

Yes I understand that it will run terribly, but how will it look.
I'm just wondering. I don't really plan on even trying to emulate it. I just wanted to know what it looked like compared to the PC version at the same resolution.
