Quitting college.

Not ready for it. I'm going to go get a job, an apartment, see what the real world is like, then go back to college. I have absolutely no motivation.

Holy fucking shit. It's nice to know that you have a magic crystal ball that can see with absolute clarity into my future. We should talk some time, I'd pay good money to have my future accurately predicted for me.

no, i've "been there, done that". i'm telling you from experience that you won't bother going back once you realize how useless it is.

He's right, if you don't go now you probably won't. It seems stupid now but when you start working and stuff you won't have the energy to go later and if you getted hooked up with a woman or get one pregnant that'll ruin your chances also because of all the time either or both will take up. Here's your motivation, live in a shitty place, work in shitty jobs, and get treated like shit, or go to college and have a chance of making your own life instead of just taking what they offer you which is usually shit if even that much. I wish I could go to college but seeing that I'm unemployed and virtually homeless *living with my cousin* it is totally impossible, not to mention that my body is totally fucked from working real jobs all my life. Go to college and ten years from now you'll go to yourself "what the fuck was I thinking not wanting to go to college" <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Well, that's a hell of a lot more interesting than what I thought you were trying to say. What's your story?

You need to have incredible determination to do it. My friend just started college after just working full time for 3 years, and he absolutely hates it. If he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to be an accountant, he would definitely have dropped out by now. He's one of the lucky ones though, because most people don't go back, or go back and drop out within the first year. Right after high school is the time of your life to go to college and get it out of the way. Unless you think you'll know for sure what you'll want to do as a career sometime in your future, you will not go back.
