RED SOX

I don't know what to say, besides, HOLY SHIT, WHAT A POST-SEASON. Curt Schilling is my new idol. He pitched two of the most amazing games I've seen in a long time in the ALCS and the Series.

Congrats to Boston fans. I'm happy that Yanks didn't make it, and perhaps now, they will get a curse.

As far as Schilling goes, I almost witnessed him pitch a perfect game against the Padres. It was about 3 or 4 years ago, and fe took it into the 8th inning, and our catcher at the time Ben Davis, threw Schilling and the fielders for a loop when he unexpectedly bunted over Schilling's left side and made it to 1st. It was pretty damn close to a perfect game though.

Well the Yankees haven't won the world series since 2000.

Now we just need to have the Cubs win the world series for once in 96 years!

Re: RED SOX

despite being an ardent yankee fan, i must tip my hat to the red sox for their victory. they played better baseball than my team, and crushed the cards like bugs.

finally, the yankees/red sox rivalry will not be so once sided, as previous to tonight, the yankees had won twenty-six unanswered championships before boston could win a single one. 26-1 seems so much more even, doesn't it? <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

one thing bothers me, tho'...now what? boston fans had a certain charm as lovable losers. kinda like new york ranger fans. ever since 1994, it's been different, not quite as fun.

as far as curses are concerned, there was never a curse to begin with. the red sox were either too inept to win, just had some bad luck, or went up against far superior teams. the reason they hadn't won in 86 years was horrendous team management, not the ghost of George Herman Ruth. this year they did the smart thing by getting curt shilling, and ridding their club of that cancer nomar. the red sox deserve this championship, and despite having gone through my team to get there, i'm almost happy for them.

live it up guys...there's nothing like it. look out, tho'...next year the yanks will be even better, and i predict championship #27 will be coming our way, and we'll stomp the shit out of your club to get there :)

Given the current trend, the Yankees would have a better shot going in as the wild card team...

don't even get me started about the wild card. something is seriously wrong when division winners keep gettting ousted by second place clubs. let's remember here...the red sox WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN THE EAST. yet they incur NO PENALTY, and even get WORLD SERIES HOME FIELD?? bullshit. what's the incentive to win your division? until baseball fixes the wild card, the playoff system is incredibly flawed, and the regular season has hardly any real meaning anymore.

Let's remember, it's about whoever plays better when it counts. October is when it counts. You need to play good during the season to see October.

The purpose of the All Star game is to determine home field advantage. The game is played by National League rules, and this year, the American League won it.

I don't know how to address this part...
