Thoughs on getting a PSP

I'm thinking of buying a PSP now that a good number of games are out. Think that the older style will come down in price when the newer type comes out? or should just get one now?

They're going to release a slim version soon, but:
1. it ain't that much smaller
2. i'm sure it'll have even stronger anti-homebrew measures in it

I'd buy one now, even if just for the fact it emulates damn near everything snes and before, and some N64 games at playable quality.

You can refurb units off of ebay for like $65-75. I'm eventually going to get one.

$65 is pretty good...of course, you'd want a memory stick after that.

Like juggs said, get one now rather than later, because the homebrew capable units might become harder to find once the new one comes out. Lots of good stuff you can do with it, and contrary to popular belief, it's no slouch when it comes to games.

Well, early chrismas I guess. Cost a bit but got a system, 2GB memory card, case, three used games. One of the games being Lumines. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

i own one of the original fw1.5 versions, i love it.

i read pdfs, emulate snes/nes/gba/ps1 and generally dick around. the games are quite good as well. Lumines, Wipeout, FFT (they are re-releasing it in america sometime in september with new features), and Valhalla knights come to mind immediately for good games.

You should really think about moving up to one of the 3.xx OE firmwares. All the functionality of 1.5 and loads more. I personally still am on 3.03 OE, which is an older version (haven't gotten around to updating to the latest), and it's pretty swank. Had a TA-082 psp though, so downgrading fucked up my USB and it's practically unusable. shit sux.
