...I voted. I think you can guess my choice. I was a bit ashamed of my lack of knowledge of the local elections, but I'm not particularly concerned about them anyway.

Did any of you angsty folks cast votes today?

Yea, I cast at 7:00 AM when the precict opened. I had a good feeling about the locals, but in all fairness we went over them in American Politcs. It was good thought, I encouraged a few people not to vote straight party line. And I was well aware of the supreme court options before I went in. We had punch cards, and I'll tell you, our precinct was packed. Although it's my first voting, I guess it's the busiest the place has ever been first thing in the morning.

I need to put down a few more pots of coffee. I don't forsee much sleep tonight . I've also got my victory beers ready :). Bottom line, whoever wins we all need to embrace him as our leader and step forward. Well buddy, I like ya, but I'm hoping you have a bad day tomorrow . Peace.

If anybody is interested, I'll be sure to be on IRC when the votes are coming in tonight. Feel free to meet me--

Undoubtedly....b/c fighting about it after its said and done won't help us solve anything. But, mark my words if we end up in Iran, I'm the fuck outta here....

As could anyone with mine.

Yeah, me too....I really had no idea about anything, but in reality, there was only one other ballot, and that was for a state representative....nothing local, no senate....nothing. There were 3 referendums on changing the state constitution, and 3 others for funding for public works projects like parks, libraries, and transportation. I really didn't know much about them, but they seemed like a good thing (albeit it was sanctioning deficit spending of $50 million, but eh, I just moved here not too long ago, and they already rape me with taxes, so I figured what's a bit more for publicly enjoyable projects).

I'm not an American, but I really hope that Kerry win. If he lose, I'll be sorry for ya.

Yeah, I voted for John Kerry. Yeah, he's "Ick." to me but at least he's not "OH FUCK!" like Bush. I also got to vote against Alan Keyes and his "I hate faggots" platform to get elected to the Senate in Illinois as a carpetbagger (yeah right). The man who ran against him, Obama, seems like a decent and very charismatic person. No negative campaign ads, and went around speaking at schools, states his policies on education (which is a VERY important issue in Illinois), and encouraging college enrollment and such. He's promoted and stated his views tirelessly even though he's been ASSURED to win the election ever since Keyes came in. Looking at his campaign ads, you get the impression that this guy could be the first black President eventually.
