Some SPC remixes from CT & FF6

JCE3000GT

Here's a few remixes/injections I've done to FF6 and CT using one of my new projects.

Note: For those who don't know these aren't just hacked *.SPC files, I hacked the ROM itself.

I've been "secretly" working on this...it's getting near 50% total completion. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

Woohah, now that is some hot shit.
Only complaint... I want an octave adjuster, or better yet, kick your own ass and add a tab that details notation of each sequence. *runs away* ;D

I like the FFVI battle done with CT instruments best, but it would sound better if the strings were lowered an octave.

Oh hey, I have some questions...
In order for a game's tracks to be "supported" in that thing, is the only thing you need to do go in there and map out the instruments? If that's the case, mind if I hop aboard and help you out? I love doing that kind of stuff, and I've done professional QA for instrument sets, so I could easily discern things like a Balafon or an Oud or 1000 other instruments you've never heard of. ;D Lemme know.

I'm dying to hear that gorgeous piano from Star Ocean plopped into something like Chrono Trigger; that would be a real hoot.

Yes and no. More time consuming than anything else.

The octaves and other specifics will come later once I finish the core of the app first.

The problem with CT's strings is that they sound like ass if too low and octave...AND they are recorded at a higher octave so its a pain to find the sweet spot. I do agree that it's a bit too high...but if you listen to it I don't think it's that far off.

I haven't coded the song editing portion yet, just the sample indexes. But when I do code that portion it will edit any correctly formatted SPC in the ROM. I'll definately keep you in mind when I'll need some beta testing.

Star Ocean does have some great samples let me tell you. RS3 does also I think. I do plan on having a sort-of archive of BRR samples dumped into files for the user to import into any of the listed games in my app. It will be a while before that's coded but I do plan on it. If someon would write a simple wav -> brr sample converter it would really be worth while to import whatever sample suits your fancy. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Please tell me you've stopped coding in VB.

Nope, it was coded in VB6. Actually, I've completely stopped coding in general. I didn't and won't finish this project.

Good to see that you are "not" still around--you're never on your IM (or trillian is acting funny) so I assumed you disappeared. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif> If you've got a rebirth of RSDN let me know. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

I didn't even realize this thread was over a month old. Looks like ZMD is finally dying, eh?
